Este extraño fenómeno es conocido como arcoíris de fuego y es impresionante. 

Esta rareza llamada arco circunhorizontal o arcoíris de fuego, es un fenómeno óptico atmosférico en forma de halo similar a un arcoíris, la diferencia es que este fenómeno es más corto, de mayor espesor y no es causado por la refracción de la luz en gotas de agua, sino a través de cristales de hielo en nubes cirrus.

Las nubes cirrus son nubes delgadas y finas compuesta de cristales de hielo hexagonales que se encuentran a grandes altitudes. La temperatura donde existen estas nubes es baja y cuando se alinean los cristales de manera óptima, actúan como un prisma, dando como resultado una refracción de la luz parecida a un arcoíris.

La fotógrafa Cessna Kutz capturó un magnífico arcoíris de fuego sobre el lago Sammamish en Washington, Estados Unidos. “¡Un arcoíris horizontal! Para mí, fue un pequeño recordatorio para aferrarse a la esperanza y el amor en lugar del miedo y el pánico en estos tiempos de incertidumbre“, comentó Kutz.

La belleza de la fotografía captó la atención de miles de usuarios en redes sociales. “Solo quería compartir un hermoso momento que pude presenciar.
